Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plant HR Head to lead Human Resources and Industrial Relations functions for a large manufacturing facility. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for workforce management, employee relations, compliance, and driving people practices that support operational excellence and business objectives.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining workforce harmony, managing industrial relations, ensuring statutory compliance, and building a productive, disciplined, and engaged plant workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end HR operations at the plant level.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and manpower planning activities.
- Handle Industrial Relations (IR), union negotiations, and labour matters.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, Factory Act, PF, ESIC, and statutory regulations.
- Drive employee engagement, grievance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Oversee attendance management, payroll inputs, and shift workforce planning.
- Implement and manage performance management systems.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to improve manpower efficiency.
- Manage contract labour and vendor workforce coordination.
- Lead HR audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- MBA in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
- 15–20+ years of experience in Plant HR roles.
- Strong background in heavy manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in Industrial Relations and union management.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing large shopfloor and plant workforces.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Profile
- Hands-on Plant HR and IR leader.
- Comfortable working in complex industrial environments.
- Strong relationship-building skills with shopfloor workforce.
- Ability to handle conflicts and sensitive employee matters.
