Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented leader to head land acquisition initiatives for large-scale cement manufacturing projects. This strategic role will be responsible for driving end-to-end land acquisition activities, including site identification, negotiations, legal due diligence, stakeholder management, and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting business expansion plans by ensuring the timely acquisition and availability of land required for greenfield developments and plant expansion projects across India.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead identification, evaluation, and acquisition of land parcels for cement projects.
- Develop and execute land acquisition strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Negotiate with landowners, brokers, local stakeholders, and government authorities.
- Ensure legal due diligence, title verification, and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with legal, liaisoning, and government relations teams.
- Manage land aggregation, conversion, mutation, and possession activities.
- Build relationships with local administration and revenue departments.
- Mitigate risks related to disputes, litigation, and regulatory challenges.
- Oversee budgeting and cost optimization for acquisition projects.
- Ensure timely land availability for project execution and expansion plans.
What We're Looking For
- 25+ years of experience in land acquisition.
- Experience within cement, infrastructure, mining, or heavy industries preferred.
- Strong expertise in land aggregation and industrial land markets.
- Deep understanding of land laws, revenue records, and legal frameworks.
- Proven track record in managing high-value land transactions.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with government officials and external consultants.
